This Cookie Policy forms part of the Brain-Shot Academy privacy hub.
Privacy hub documents: Main Privacy Notice, Cookie Policy, Cookie Inventory, Processor Appendix, International Transfers Appendix, Retention Appendix, Legal Bases Matrix, and Required and Optional Data Matrix.
It applies across the Brain-Shot Academy platform, including:
- the public website at brain-shot.academy
- the shared account service at account.brain-shot.academy
- the legacy campus at campus.brain-shot.ch
- Airport
- Shop
- Shorts
- the Partner Program
- related shared account-access features shown within other Brain-Shot Academy services
1. What this policy covers
This Cookie Policy explains how Brain-Shot Academy uses cookies and similar technologies across its services.
These technologies may be used to:
- operate services and core website functions
- authenticate users and maintain secure sessions
- support account continuity across relevant Brain-Shot Academy services
- remember language and service preferences
- support technical service continuity where applicable
- protect services and users
- measure service performance, website use, and campaign effectiveness where appropriate
- store and manage consent choices where required
2. What cookies and similar technologies are
Cookies are small text files stored on your device by your browser. Similar technologies may include local storage, session storage, pixels, tags, scripts, SDK-provided storage, and other tools that help a service operate, remember information, or measure usage.
In this policy, we use “cookies” as a short way of referring to cookies and similar technologies unless the context requires a distinction.
3. Categories of cookies we may use
Strictly necessary cookies
These cookies are used to operate our websites and services and their essential functions. They may be used for:
- page and service delivery
- account authentication
- secure session handling
- account recovery and sign-in continuity
- routing users to the correct service or destination
- technical continuity for essential service functions where applicable
- consent-state storage
- load balancing, reliability, and core technical operation
These technologies are generally used without consent where permitted by law because the relevant service cannot function properly without them.
Security and integrity cookies
These cookies or similar technologies may be used to:
- detect misuse, fraud, or unauthorized access
- protect account, commerce, partner, and other sensitive actions
- support service reliability and platform integrity
- protect users and Brain-Shot Academy services
- support anti-abuse challenge flows where configured
Preference cookies
These cookies are used to remember choices such as language and related service preferences.
Analytics and measurement technologies
These cookies or similar technologies may be used to understand how websites and services are used, how content performs, how services behave technically, and how campaigns or referrals perform.
Where required by law, optional analytics or similar measurement technologies are used only after consent.
Marketing or campaign-related technologies
Where applicable, we may use consent-managed technologies to measure campaign effectiveness, attribution, or related marketing performance.
4. Consent and preferences
Where required by law, optional cookies and similar technologies are used only after you have given consent.
Cookies that are strictly necessary for service operation, authentication, session continuity, security, or similar essential functions may be used without consent where permitted by law.
You can manage your preferences through:
- the cookie banner or preference controls provided on the relevant service, where available
- your browser settings
- relevant device settings
If you disable certain cookies, some parts of a website or service may not work as intended.
5. Service differences and inventories
Although this is one global Cookie Policy, different Brain-Shot Academy services may use different technologies, retention periods, or preference controls depending on the function of the service.
For example:
- public website services may use consent-managed website and campaign measurement technologies
- most current Brain-Shot Academy websites and web apps may use Supabase authentication cookies for sign-in continuity across relevant services
- the legacy campus at campus.brain-shot.ch uses its own account, authentication, and content environment managed by EvolMind
- commerce, learning, media, or partner features may use additional technical storage needed for the relevant feature or integration
Because this is a hub policy, this Cookie Policy describes cookies and similar technologies mainly by category and purpose. The named cookies and similar technologies currently in use are listed in the separate Cookie Inventory.
Public website and campaign pages
Under the current Brain-Shot Academy service setup, Google analytics and advertising technologies are not part of the default cookie stack across the whole platform.
Where used, they appear only:
- on the public website and selected advertising landing pages
- during active campaigns or while the relevant public-site tags are deployed
- after consent where required by applicable law
Under the current service setup, Google-related analytics or advertising cookies are not part of Account, Airport, Shorts, Partner Program, or other authenticated product areas.
6. Embedded and external services
Some Brain-Shot Academy services may include or trigger functionality provided by embedded or external services. Depending on the service, this may include:
- anti-abuse challenge services
- account or identity components
- commerce, media, or playback services
- Brain-Shot Academy-provided partner embeds or helper scripts used on partner or third-party sites where relevant
These integrations may use their own cookies, storage, or similar technologies depending on how they operate.
7. Third-party services
Brain-Shot Academy services may rely on third-party services for hosting, authentication, delivery, security, communications, payments, streaming, embeds, analytics, or related technical operation.
Some cookies or similar technologies are first-party technologies set by Brain-Shot Academy. Others may be provided by integrated third-party services, depending on the function being used and the service you access.
Further information about the principal service providers currently used across the Brain-Shot Academy platform is available in the Processor Appendix of the privacy hub.
Where Brain-Shot Academy uses Google Tag Manager, the Google tag, Google Analytics, or Google Ads technologies on public website or campaign pages, they are optional analytics or marketing technologies unless a specific implementation is strictly necessary for a requested service. Tag-management tools may be used to deploy those technologies, but whether cookies are actually set depends on the active tags and configuration.
8. Retention
Some cookies are session-based and are deleted when you close your browser. Others remain for a defined period or until you delete them.
In general, retention periods vary depending on the technology, its purpose, the relevant service, your consent choices, and legal requirements. Strictly necessary technologies are typically kept only for the session or for a limited continuity period. Preference, analytics, or similar optional technologies may last longer, depending on the relevant configuration and whether you keep or withdraw consent.
Typical durations for the currently named cookies and similar technologies are set out in the Cookie Inventory.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time to reflect legal, technical, or operational changes.
